Ceramic + Glass Techniques
Ceramics is to work-with clay, meaning you can’t work against it unless you’re after a kiln full of shards. As teacher of ceramic design technique, I show students how to relate to the material in all creative stages of a ceramic artwork. From inception to modelling, from mould-making to glazing and firing, I advise them on how to realise their individual visions within the bewildering range of available ceramic options. In the process I aim to pass on a sense of commitment: to work-with clay can be very rewarding indeed.
Katrin König qualified as a professional ceramist in the former GDR, she gaining a qualification as a master craftswoman in 1990.
